Hamilton Steel Graff was the daughter of Adrian Graff and Janet/ Jenette Marshall. Her father was born in Switzerland and her mother was born in Glasgow, Lanark, Scotland. Hamilton's mother was the daughter of William Marshall and Jean/ Jane Hamilton. The Hamilton name was often given as a given name to the females of the family thus preserving the Hamilton surname. Hamilton married Charles S. Westcott in Manhattan, New York on the 7 August 1855. The couple had five known children all born in NY: Agnes L (b. 1851), Stella H. (b. 1857), and Charles S. (b. 1860), Jeanette J (b. 1862), and Francis L (b. 1865). They moved for a brief time to Elizabeth, Union, New Jersey and then relocated to Philadelphia, Pa.
Hamilton's husband, Charles dies on the 16th of Jan 1886 in Philadelphia, Pa and is assumed to be buried with her. Unfortunately this cemetery is now owned by the city of Philadelphia and has been horribly and shamefully neglected. However, the group Friends of Mount Moriah are doing some great work and making great strides to revive this wonderful old cemetery. The have a website if anyone is interested. Location of the interment list are unknown to me at this time.
