Mrs. Emma Edlee Merritt, 68, died in Lufkin, Tex., on Sept. 7, 1986, at 12:15 p.m., in an accident.
Services were held at Pendleton Assembly of God, on Sept. 9, 1986, at 4 p.m., with the Rev. C. E. Bell, and the Rev. Jerry Bell officiating. Interment was in Pendleton Assembly of God Cemetery, under the direction of Warren Meadows Funeral Home.
She is survived by one daughter, Lawanda Hayes, Bridge City, Tex.; three sons, Pascal Merritt, Telvin Merritt, and Lavan Merritt, all of Many; two sisters, Joy Adams of Campti, and Jesse Mae Harrison of Bornesville, Ga.; four brothers, F. C. Dowden of Zwolle, M. T. Dowden of Kirthwood, Gene Dowden of Campti, and Hoover Dowden of Baton Rouge; 214 grandchildren; and 5 great grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews.
