Helen Emilie Bundy, 86, of Dallas died Sept. 15 in Dallas.

She was born in Woodburn to Alvah G. Cowan and Helen Wageman Cowan.

Helen graduated with a bachelor's degree in teaching from Oregon State College in 1949. She taught English and science for many years in Woodburn.

She was a self-proclaimed rock hound and animal lover. She also carried on her mother's legacy of genealogy research and passed it on to her children.

She was preceded in death by her husbands, Howard E. Bowers and Emer P. Bundy.

Survivors include her children, Irene Sallee Crawford of Eagle Mountain, Utah, Joe Bowers of Dallas, Heather W. Bowers of Porterdale, Ga., and Kathy Staton of Boise, Idaho; 13 grandchildren; and 21 great-grandchildren.

Private graveside service was held in Belle Passi Cemetery in Woodburn on Sept. 18.
