Shirley Louise Britton was the daughter of Mary E. Overstreet and Thomas Lee Feaster. Mary died when Shirley was only 3 years old. Tom Feaster had remarried and started a new family and wouldn't take Shirley in so she was raised by her grandparents, Ada and David Overstreet, until their deaths. She then lived in an orphans home and with her uncle, Connie Overstreet.

She met and married Lee Amos Britton in December 1941; they had 3 children together (Jimmy Lee, Delores Ann, Carlton Lynn). Shirley died of breast cancer at only 50 yrs of age, leaving behind her husband, 3 children, and 5 grandchildren (Brad Britton, Blake Britton, Scott Blansett, Monica Blansett, Lori Britton).

Sundays were a special time for her family, as they always looked forward to the homemade biscuits she made for breakfast before church. She had a special knack for baking just about anything - cakes, pies (her coconut pie was to die for!), banana pudding, date nut loaf at Christmas. Shirley was a devout Christian and raised her children in that manner.

Shirley loved to crochet and embroider - talents almost lost by today's standards.

She was a loyal and dedicated employee of Collins Radio and received her 25 year pin while in the hospital battling breast cancer.

Shirley was a wonderful wife and loving mother and is greatly missed by her family.
