Mrs. Lisa Faye Madrie Whitaker, age 43, of 3213 15th Ave., Chattanooga, passed away on Friday morning, October 8, 2010, at her residence.

Mrs. Whitaker was born in Atlanta, Georgia on June 24, 1967, daughter of Linda Kay O'Neal Madrie and the late James Allen Madrie.

She was of the Baptist faith. Prior to her illness, Mrs. Whitaker worked as a teacher's assistant at the Orange Grove Center in Chattanooga.

Survivors include her husband, Michael Lamar Whitaker, to whom she was married on June 16, 1985; a daughter, Ms. Michelle Lee Whitaker Crump, Chattanooga; a son, Michael Lamar Whitaker, Jr., Chattanooga; 2 granddaughters, Makayla LeeAnn Crump and Miranda Nicole Crump; her mother, Mrs. Linda Madrie, Rome; 2 sisters, Mrs. Christie Allen, Lindale and Mrs. Mistie Pierce, Lindale; 2 brothers, Frankie Madrie, Lindale and Tommy Madrie, Cartersville; several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, October 11, 2010, at 2pm in the Chapel at Henderson & Sons Funeral Home with the Rev. Billy Rampley and her brother, the Rev. Frankie Madrie, officiating. Interment will follow in Rome Memorial Park.

The family will receive friends at Henderson & Sons Funeral Home on Sunday from 4 until 6pm. At other hours they may be contacted at the residence of a sister, Mrs. Mistie Pierce, 420 Blackberry Lane, Lindale.

Pallbearers are asked to assemble at Henderson & Sons Funeral Home on Monday at 1:30pm and include: Jeff Allen, Kerry Burnett, Frank Madrie, Jr., John Finch, Brent Williams, and James Dennis.
