Mrs. Jennie Walbridge, 81 years of age and one of the oldest citizens of Neosho, died at her home on east Spring Street on Friday, Sept. 22, at 11:15 a.m. The old home has recently been occupied by Mr. and Mrs. Dorwood Dorsey and she had been living with them. The funeral services were held Sunday at the M.E. Church on Spring Street of which she was a charter member. Rev. A. J. Cutrell conducting the services.
Deceased was a sister of Mrs. M. A. Early. E.N. Early's mother, and lived with her for many years. She was also a sister of the late John C. Baber of McDonald County. She was born in Rutherfordton, N.C., and when a little girl went with her parents to Georgia. The family came to Neosho in 1854.
Miss Jennie lived with her sister, Mrs. Early for many years and in 1870 married Geo. N. Walbridge who died about 28 years ago. He was a prominent citizen of Neosho and was interested in the Neosho Foundry and other industries.
Mrs. Early who now lives with her son, E.N. Early, on Indian Creek, is older than Mrs. Walbridge and is the only one of the family living.
