WELLINGTON GEORGE KIDDER, at twenty years of age was drafted at Gaines, Michigan to serve in the 10th MICHIGAN INFANTRY, Company I, as a private. He was mustered in, 20 Sept. 1864 and reassigned to the 15th MICHIGAN INFANTRY, Company E, for one year's service.

They served in the following; operations against CSA General Hood in North Georgia and North Alabama, Sept. to Nov. 1864; siege of Savannah, Georgia, 10 to 21 Dec. 1864. Campaign of the Carolinas, Jan. to Apr. 1865; moved to Washington, D.C., and took part in the Grand Review Parade in the nation capitol, 24 May 1865.

Wellington Kidder was discharged at Washington D.C., 30 May 1865.

Wellington Kidder married in Linden, Michigan, 20 Feb. 1865, ELIZABETH EAGER. Elizabeth died, 24 Jan. 1924, and she received a $30.00 a month pension for his military service.
