The death of Mr. Chas. E. Meacham occurred at his farm home in Hopkinton some four miles south of this village Sunday morning Oct. 11. Mr. Meacham has been a life long resident of Hopkinton and at the time of his death lacked but a few days of being 80 years of age. He married in early life Alzina, daughter of Hiram B. and Betsey Blanchard Sheldon whose death occurred several years ago
Seven children were born to them, five of whom are living, namely, Mrs. W. G. Manchester and Mrs. J. E. Abercrombie of Winstead, Conn.; Hattie M.; Charles O. and Earl. Hattie and Earl have lived at home and kindly cared for their parents. Mr. Meacham was a very jolly good natured man, a kind neighbor and a true friend and will be much missed in the community in which he lived. The funeral was largely attended at the home Tuesday afternoon.
