Survivor of the Charge of the Light Brigade.

Private in the 11th Hussars.
Wounded during the Charge in his right leg.
He became a stage actor and at reunions he would read out Alfred, Lord Tennyson poem "The Charge of the Light Brigade".
William Henry Pennington was the last surviving member of the 11th Hussars of the Charge and the second to last survivor of the Charge leaving Edwin Hughes (13th Light Dragoons) as the last survivor, who died four years later at the age of 96.
