Violet Viola Harrington, 78, Cannon Falls, died at her home August 19, 2002. A memorial service was held August 21 at Lundberg Funeral Home in Cannon Falls. Interment was August 22 at Eidfjord Lutheran Cemetery near Hannaford, ND. Violet was born October 6, 1923, in Stutsman County, ND, the daughter of Jacob and Gudrun (Mortensen) Jacobson. She attended country school in North Dakota. Violet married Keith G. Harrington June 17, 1943, in Cooperstown, ND. She was employed at Armour Meat Packing in South St. Paul, and later Maple Island in Wanamingo, retiring in 1990. Keith died April 29, 2001.

Violet loved spending time with her whole family. She enjoyed cooking and baking, and oftentimes would send home with her family those homemade baked goods. She also picked berries and canned for her family. Violet loved gardening, flowers, her animal "buddies", especially the birds. She is survived by her seven children, Clifford, Goodhue, MN, Mitchel (Jeannie), Hastings, MN, Kathy (Duane) Liddle, Hastings, MN, Arlene (Chuck Pardun) Murtaugh, Fredric, WI, David (Beth), Ridgeland, WI, George (Kelly), Lawton, OK, and Jonnie (Scott) Romness, Cannon Falls, MN; 14 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; seven sisters, Gloria Clemens, Redwing, MN, Josephine (Lawrence) Anderson, Washington, Irene (Ralph) Clemens, Welch, MN, Yvonnne (Richard) Clemens, Hannaford, ND, Leona Clemens, Wolf Point, MT. Leah (Gordon) Meier, Hastings, MN, and Mildred Jacobson, Hastings, MN; three brothers, Carl (Carmen) Jacobson Nebraska, Kenneth (Shan) Jacobson, Wanamingo, MN, and Harry (Dorothy) Jacobson, Wanamingo, MN; sister-in-law, Fay Jacobson, Denver, CO; and many nieces nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her husband, Keith; parents; grandson, John Harrington; and two brothers, Larry and Ruben Jacobson.
