Beulah D. Raynes, 65

Beulah Dean Raynes, 65, of Elkton, died Thursday, April 26, 2007, at her home.

Mrs. Raynes was born Jan. 19, 1942, in Rockingham County, and was a daughter of the late Herman and Arbutus Hammer Meadows.

She was a member of Grace Fellowship Church in Shenandoah. She was employed at James Madison University, Seven-Up Bottling Company and the Elkton Garment Factory. In recent years, she enjoyed cooking and going to area yard sales.

Her first husband, Dempsey Odell Dean, preceded her in death.

On Nov. 13, 1987, she married Donald E. Raynes, who survives.

She is also survived by two daughters, Deborah J. Robinson of Shenandoah and Barbara A. Simmons of Harrisonburg; two sons, Gary Odell Dean of Shenandoah and Allen Lee Dean of Elkton; a stepson, Eddie Raynes of Shenandoah; a stepdaughter, Vicky Oscar; two sisters, Daisy Wright and Joyce Merica; two brothers, Billy "Peewee" Meadows and James Meadows; two grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; three stepgrandchildren and caregivers, Deneene and Amber Rice.

Pastor Wayne Comer will conduct the funeral 11 a.m. Monday at Grace Fellowship Church in Shenandoah. Burial will follow at Eastlawn Memorial Gardens near Harrisonburg.

The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Sunday at the Kyger Funeral Home in Elkton.
