Mr. Fred Dixon, age 71 of the Toombs Central Community, died Thursday, October 7, 2010 in the Community Hospice House in Vidalia after a brief illness. He was a native of Toombs County and lived all of his life in Toombs Central area. He was a retired farmer, and the former owner of Clifton's Store on U.S. 1. He was a member of the English Eddy Presbyterian Church, and was preceded in death by his parents, Norwood and Freddie Irene Sconyers Dixon.

Mr. Dixon is survived by two sisters, Doris Dixon Britt of Baxley and Sherry Dixon Jenkins of Surf City North Carolina; a companion, Elena Felix of Lyons; four nieces and nephews, Mickey Britt of Baxley; Brenda Britt Coleman of Trussville, Alabama; Brenna Jenkins Pleasants of Morrisville, North Carolina; and Erienne Jenkins of Chapel Hill, North Carolina; one great-niece, Brittany Coleman; one great-nephew, Brian Britt, and numerous cousins.

Funeral services will be held Sunday, October 10th at 2:00 pm in the chapel of Ronald V. Hall Funeral Home with Reverend Bill Vansant officiating. Interment will follow in Lakeview Memorial Gardens.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home Saturday Evening from 7:00 until 9:00. Those desiring may make memorial contributions to Community Hospice, P.O. Box 2277, Vidalia, GA 30475.
