George Lincoln of Ira dropped dead of heart failure at 1 o'clock yesterday afternoon. His sudden death occurred at his home, while he was going from the house to the barn to harness his horse to attend the Rutland County fair. He had attended the fair Thursday and stayed in Rutland enjoying the fireworks, street parade and other features of the carnival until midnight.
Mr. Lincoln was 77 years old, and a veteran of the Civil war. He was considered in good health, being an active and capable farmer.
He is survived by his wife, two sons, George and Grant Lincoln, who lived with him, and three daughters, Miss Grace Lincoln and Mrs. Stella Fish of Ira, and Mrs. H.H. White of Hardwick. He also leaves a brother, Cornelius Lincoln of Ira.
The funeral will be held at the home Monday afternoon at 1 o'clock.
