Clarence David Adkins, 90, of Penhook, Va., went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, October 6, 2010. Clarence's family and church family was his life. He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Jasmen Adkins; two sisters, Sadie Tuck and Edith Adkins; and brothers, Gency Adkins and Wiley Adkins. He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Mike and Nancy Adkins; grandchildren, Kevin and Jennifer Adkins, and Andy and Tiffany Adkins; great-grandchildren, Daniel Adkins, Morgan Adkins, and Halie Adkins; two stepgreatgrandchildren, Lucas and Tracy; sisters, Helen and Bill Divers, Hazel Easome, and Janie and Everett Popham; and many loving nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Cool Springs Christian Church. Funeral Services will be conducted 2 p.m. on Saturday, October 9, 2010, from Cool Springs Christian Church with Pastor Ron Hennis and the Reverend Roy Parker officiating. Interment will follow in Adkins Family Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Saturday prior to the service from 1 to 2 p.m. at the Cool Springs Christian Church. Arrangements by Lynch Conner-Bowman Funeral Home, 140 Floyd Ave., Rocky Mount, Va., 540-483-5533.
