Funeral Services for Normandy
Victim To Be Held Friday

Another of the Washington County soldiers who made the supreme sacrifice in World War II has returned home.

The body of Ernest L. Troxell, Funkstown, arrived this morning and was taken to Rest Haven Chapel, and will remain there until funeral services on Thursday.

Private Troxell was killed in Normandy June 7, 1944. He had been inducted into the service March 29, 1941.

Besides his parents, Mr. and Mrs. William R. Troxell, Private Troxell is survived by a daughter, Carrie Loraine, of Hagerstown, and the following sisters: Mrs. C.W. Ridgely, Washington, D.C.; Mrs. Judson Wright, Long Island City, N.Y.; Mrs. Leonard Price, Mrs. Jack Showe, Funkstown; Mrs. Richard Hankey, Hagerstown; and brothers, William E., Clear Spring; Richard, Hagerstown; Paul F. Funkstown and Donald at home.

Funeral services will be conducted by Rev. Raymond Miller on Thursday afternoon at 2:30, one day before the anniversary of his birthday, at Rest Haven Chapel. Graveside Services by the Dixon-Troxell Post Number 211, of the American Legion, will precede burial in Memorial Garden, Rest Haven Cemetery.
