Pfc. Ray R. Carbaugh, the Marine in whose honor the local Marine Corps League post was named, is being brought back to this country for reburial.

A spokesman for the local post said last night that plans are being made to have members of the group take part in the reburial service.

Carbaugh's body is included in a shipment of 1,900 war dead being returned to this country aboard the Army Transport Dalton Victory from the Pacific area.

His next of kin is Mrs. Jennie E. Carbaugh of Security.

Reinterment Services Are Planned For Pfc. Ray Carbaugh

The body of Pfc. Ray R. Carbaugh, local Marine who died in the Pacific theatre of operations, will arrive here on Friday evening for reburial services.

The member of the Marine Corps, 23 years old at the time of his death, was the son of Mr. and Mrs. James E. Carbaugh. He died on July 25, 1944, while on duty with the Marines.

Before entering the service, he was employed by the Moller Organ Works.

The Ray R. Carbaugh Detachment of the Marines here, was named in his honor.

Surviving besides his parents, are brother, James B. Carbaugh, Union Bridge; sisters, Helen, at home; Mrs. H. A. Ledy, Hagerstown; Mrs. Clarence Manious, Hagerstown; Gladys V., at home; and Mrs. Paul P. Price, Hagerstown.

The funeral will be conducted at the Rest Haven funeral chapel Sunday at 2 p.m., the Rev. Harry L. Fehl, Jr., officiating, with interment in the memorial garden at Rest Haven Cemetery.
