Cheryl was born in Pocatello, Idaho on November 28, 1955 to Robert and Alta Mary "Joyce" Cates.
Cheryl spent most of her life in Idaho. She was particularly close to her father and grandfather and cared for her parents and grandparents until the time of their deaths.
She was a lovely wife, mother, and homemaker. She was married to Chad Hial Carlson on February 8th, 1996 in Farmington Utah.
The pride of her life was her son, Jeffery Robert Carlson, who she loved dearly. She was particularly proud of his accomplishments. She was a concerned and dedicated mother who focused most of her married life to see that Jeff grew up to be a responsible caring individual. Her family was the center of her life.
Cheryl loved the outdoors, enjoyed Country music and was a hard worker.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Joyce Cates, and her nephew, James Cates.
She is survived by her husband, Chad Carlson; son, Jeff; siblings, Carma Moore (Clyde), Laurie Vaughn (Tom), Robert Cates (Julie); and many nieces and nephews.
A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, October 8th, 2010, 5:00 p.m. at the Wasatch Chapel, 789 E. Wasatch Drive 84041 in Layton, Utah. Graveside services will also be held at the Mountain View Cemetery, 1520 South 5th Avenue in Pocatello, Idaho.
