"David Miller, 65, 1621 South 8th street, died unexpectedly yesterday and Dr. B. W. Tadlock, acting coroner, said that death was due to a heart attack. Mr. Miller died at the home of R. P. Grant, 517 Mitchell avenue. Mr. Grant had gone to purchase groceries for Mr. Miller and when he returned, found the man dead.

Mr. Miller is survived by a son, David A. Miller of Kidder, Mo.; a daughter, Mrs. Lillian Armstrong of St Joseph; two sisters, Mrs. Frances Krull of Helena, Mo., and Mrs. Hugh Brown of Savannah, Mo.; a brother, Melvin Miller, serving with the Army in Yuma, Ariz.; a stepson, Lester Herbert; and 14 grandchildren." "Services for David Miller will be conducted by the Rev. V. H. Martin tomorrow afternoon at 2 at the Barry funeral home. Interment will be in the Odd Fellows Public Cemetery. Mr. Miller died unexpectedly Sunday at the age of 65." St Joseph News-Press, April 28, 1954
