DEATH OF MRS. SHAW
Mrs. Kate Shaw died at her home near Andrew Chapel Sunday morning, Mrs. Shaw was stricken with paralysis some five weeks ago and never recovered from the effects of the stroke.
Kate Moss Shaw was born in Pike county, Missouri, on August 13, 1844 and was married to James D. Shaw on February 23, 1868 and died July 20, 1913, aged 68 years, 11 months and 17 days.
She was converted and untied with the Cumberland Presbyterian Church of Union Valley in early womanhood. Upon her removal to Andrew Chapel neighborhood she united with the Methodist Church.
'Aunt Kate' as she was familiarly called, was a good Christian woman and died as she had lived.
She leaves two daughters, Mrs. Frank Patterson and Mrs. Annie Miller and a number of grandchildren and several great-grandchildren, two sisters and two brothers and many friends to mourn her departure, but their loss is her gain. Her husband preceded her to the better world some 25 years ago.
Funeral services were held at Andrew Chapel Monday afternoon at 9 o'clock by Rev. R.O. Triplett, to a large concourse of relatives and friends, after which her remains were laid to rest in the cemetery at that place
