Marion C. Burnham, 73, of Oskaloosa, died Oct. 2, 2010, at the Oakwood Nursing and Rehab Center in Albia. She was born on November 20, 1936, at ThePas, Manitoba Canada. On July 31, 1954, she was united in marriage to Roger K. Berg at Sioux City; he died April 20, 1980. She moved to Oskaloosa in 1968. On March 29, 1985, she was united in marriage to Retson E. "Jim" Jemison at Oskaloosa, Jim died May 14, 1987. Marion worked for the Oskaloosa Community School District, in the lunch program, for 18 years. On January 15, 1988, she was united in marriage to Eugene "Smoke" Burnham at Oskaloosa, he died June 16, 2002. She was a member of the Grace Lutheran Church in Oskaloosa.
Her family includes a daughter and her husband, Carol and Richard Stone of Boone.
In addition to her three husbands, she was preceded in death by her parents; a son: Kenneth Berg; and two sisters: Jane Parker and Peggy Jackson.
Graveside memorial services and burial will be held Thursday, October 7, 2010 at 2pm. in the Forest Cemetery in Oskaloosa with Rev. Roger Neumann officiating. For those wishing to go to the cemetery, a procession will form at the Bates Funeral Chapel on Thursday afternoon at 1:40.
The Bates Funeral Chapel is in charge of the arrangements. As was Marion's wish, her body has been cremated and no visitation is planned.
Her family includes a daughter and her husband, Carol and Richard Stone of Boone.
