Joshua Lee Raymond, 30, died on October 3, 2010 in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma. His funeral service will be 2:00 p.m. on Friday, October 8, 2010 at the Countryside Baptist Church in Stillwater with Pastor J.B. Bond officiating. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens. Strode Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

He was born on September 22, 1980 to Terry and Cynthia Raymond in Enid, Oklahoma.

Joshua became a Christian as a child and affirmed his salvation to us several times over the years. Growing up he loved playing with computers, software, and hardware. He also liked playing around on an electric guitar and keyboard. He experimented with a chemistry set and we expected that someday we would find his bedroom on fire from his wild experiments! After graduating from Oklahoma State University with a Bachelor of Science in Computer Engineering, he accepted a job in electronics and software engineering at Lowrance Electronics in Tulsa, and his first project was a handheld field GPS unit.

He was a very intelligent, loving, complex, warm person and will be greatly missed by his brother, mom, dad, and extended family. We all look forward to joining him in the presence of Jesus some day.

He is preceded in death by his grandmother, Dora Raymond; grandfathers, Clifford Raymond and Richard Dittmeyer; and great grandmother, Frances Dittmeyer.

He is survived by his parents, Terry and Cynthia Raymond of Stillwater, OK; one brother, Phillip Raymond and wife, Tamra of Stillwater, OK; great-grandmother, Gertrude Long; grandmother, Mary Cordell and husband, Jonnie; two aunts, Sharon Raymond of Enid, OK and Ronda Crider and husband, Randy of Drummond, OK; one uncle, Don Raymond of Enid, OK; numerous cousins in Oklahoma, Kansas, Texas, and Florida; and 132 Facebook Friends.

Memorial contributions may be made in his name to Countryside Baptist Church Missions, 2124 S. Western Rd, Stillwater, OK 74074 or www.countrysidebible.com .
