Peter C. Pedersen, son of Jens C. and Carolene (Schultz) Pedersen was born November 30, 1895 at Missouri Valley, Iowa. He moved to Dunlap with his parents when still a young boy and was a life-long resident of this community.

He served with the U. S. Army in France during World War I. As a member of the American Legion Post 224, he received his 50-year membership pin in 1970.

March 7, 1923 he was united in marriage to Emma M. Weber at Denison, Iowa and they observed their golden wedding anniversary this year. They were the parents of three daughters, Norma Jean, Norene and Loretta.

He passed away at the Veterans' Hospital in Omaha, Nebraska Thursday, April 12, 1973. Preceding him in death were his parents; two brothers, Marinius and John; three sisters, Mabel, Dora (Mrs. William Price), Sina (Mrs. Lewis Jones); and a daughter, Norma Jean who passed away March 12, 1966.

He is survived by his wife Emma; daughters, Norene (Mrs. William Rannells) and Loretta (Mrs. Roger Miller); five grandchildren, Carla Brockman Hagan, Larry Brockman, Robert , Carol and Wm. Mark Rannells, and two great grandchildren, Shane and Lori Hagan. He is also survived by two brothers, Floyd and Arthur, and three sisters, Ethel (Mrs. Julius Hartwig), Carrie (Mrs. James Carbaugh), Mabel (Mrs. Edward McDonald) and many other relatives.

Funeral services were held at the United Methodist Church in Dunlap Sunday, April 15, 1973. The Reverend Robert Hoeft of Meade, Nebr., officiated. Music was furnished by Mr. and Mrs. Magnus Jepson, accompanied by Mrs. Robert Mitchell.

Interment was in Pleasant Hill Cemetery with full military honors. Casket bearers, all nephews of the deceas
