Succumbs to Pneumonia. Funeral to be Held this Afternoon at 4:30 at Church of Holy Comforter.
Following an illness of just one week with pneumonia, Mrs. Mary Moon Black, wife of T. L. Black, died yesterday afternoon at 3 o'clock at her home, 210 East Boulevard, Dilworth.
The funeral will be conducted this afternoon at 4:30 o'clock at the Holy Comforter. The rector, Rev. R. B. Owens, will be in charge of the services. Interment will be in Elmwood cemetery.
Mrs. Black was born in Franklin county, Georgia, June 17, 1866, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. W. S. Moon. She was married to Mr. Black December 1, 1886, at Flowery Branch, Ga.
Soon after their marriage Mr. and Mrs. Black moved to Blacksburg, S. C. and then to Spartanburg, S. C. They came to Charlotte April 1, 1904.
She is survived by the following children, Misses Addie, Jeanne, Sarah, Ruth and Eleanor Black and Joseph R., William L., and John G. Black, all of this city.
R. A. Moon, a brother, of Charlotte, also survives, along with four sisters, Mrs. T. S. Harper, Mrs. George E. Thornton and Miss Willie A. Moon, of Atlanta, Ga., and Mrs. A. P. McKinney, of Athens, Ga.
Mrs. Black was a devoted member of the Church of the Holy Comforter, Episcopal, and was always actively interested in the affairs of the church.
