Named after her mother and maternal grandmother, Christina was the second child of Christoph Stutz (b. 1795) and Christina Schafer (b. 1805 in Wolfartsweier - d. July 26, 1858 in Leimen). Her older brother, Christoph (b. April 24, 1831 - d. July 13, 1860), was named after their father. Christina and Christoph also had a younger sister, Amalia (b: June 24, 1950). Of the three siblings, it is reckoned that only Christina and Amalia (15 months later) immigrated to America. By 1880, Amalia lived with Christina and Leonard in NY, and by 1881, Amalia married Herman Kaufmann, with whom she had 6 children).
Christina lived in Leimen until Joh. Leonhard Bahr [see memorial] went back there between 1865-1868, to take her to New York where he had already established himself. They married and had two children: Caroline Bahr (b.1870) and Matilda Bahr (b. 1872 - d. 1917) (who married Robert F. Berry).
Little else is known about her life.
After Leonhard's death, Christina and daughter Caroline visited Matilda in Yonkers, where all three women were shot by Matilda's husband, Robert Berry, who then committed suicide. Caroline was the only one who survived.
