Ralph Cigna, Seneca, Kansas passed away Thursday morning, February 6, 1958 at the Seneca hospital from a heart attack. He had been ill for some three weeks but had been
improving until the sudden attack.
He was nearing 58 years of age. He was born February 11, 1900 at Everest, Kansas; lived in Marshall County for a time and then in 1926 settled in Seneca, Kansas, his home for the past 32 years.
Ralph whose name was Raphael P. Cigna, was a fine and thorough workman. For many years he operated a repair shop, and his work on cars, lawnmowers, locks and keys was
work of precision. He liked to trace the work of machinery and a problem job challenged him. He worked on locks for public buildings schools, churches, banks and stores as well
as individuals.
He will be missed for weather reports. Ralph had regulation weather equipment and kept the records for Seneca for many years. In that too he insisted on precision. He wanted the rain or snow records to the hundredth of a inch.
For the past three years he has been with the Seneca hospital, his ability with machinery and equipment made him a man who will be hard to replace.
He leaves his sisters, Frances, Mary and Amelia. He is preceded in death by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. C.J. Cigna.
Mass was held at Sts. Peter and Paul in Seneca, Kansas with Father Cyprian Nordhus officiating. Burial was in the Mount Calvary Cemetery, Frankfort, Kansas.
