Miss Ellen FitzGerald, 83, a well-known early settler of Marshall County, died in her home April 29. She was born in Atchison and as a child, moved to the homestead just outside Beattie, where she and her sister, Catherine FitzGerald continued to live. Surviving is only her sister. A brother, John, died two months ago. Funeral services were held in St. Malachy's Church, with the Rev. William L. Nelligan offering the Requiem Mass. Burial was in the parish cemetery.
