Mrs. George Shellenberger's funeral was held from her late residence in west Hanover street Friday afternoon. The services were conducted by Rev. Chr. Heidenreich and the interment was at Oakridge. Mrs. Shellenberger was born in Canal Fulton, Ohio, Oct. 13, 1845. She was the daughter of George and Elizabeth Wiselogle. In January 1867 she married George Shellenberger of this city. Their union was blessed with six children, four of whom with the husband survive her, also George Wiselogle of Concord, and John Wiselogle of Emmett, brothers, and one sister, Mrs. Henrietta Gordon, of Concord. Mrs. Shellenberger had not been well for some time, and last March was obliged to give up, and went to the Battle Creek sanitarium for treatment. There a specialist informed her that she had cancer of the stomach, an incurable disease. The family was informed that nothing could be done for her, excepting to make her comfortable as possible. The members of the family and friends were constantly with her doing all in their power to make her last days pleasant, until she passed peacefully away at 11 a.m. Wednesday, May 25.
