Mother of GOP Committeeman Faries Dies at 83
Mrs. Priscilla Ellen Faries, 83, mother of McIntyre Faries, Republican National Committeeman for California and president of the Los Angeles Coliseum Commission, died Tuesday in her home 1549 N Kingsley Drive.
Mrs. Faries, the widow of Dr. William Reid Faries, was a resident of California for 48 years. She was born in Plumstead, Kent, Eng., and came to the United States 68 years ago.
She leaves four sons, McIntyre, Culbert W., John T. and Allan. Another son, David R., Los Angeles attorney who was active in the civic and cultural development of the city, died in 1944.
Mrs. Faries was the sister-in-law of Mrs. Charles E. Chittick, Mrs. Annie G. Fariesmith and Dr. John C. Faries. She leaves 11 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted Saturday at 10 a.m. in the Wee Kirk O' the Heather, Forest Lawn Mortuary in charge.
