Henryville ~ James "Jim" Valentine, 75, formerly of Sellersburg, IN died Tuesday at Clark Memorial Hospital in Jeffersonville, IN. He was a native of Sycamore, IL, a retired truck driver for Haas Cabinet Company, a US Army veteran of World War II and the Korean Conflict, a member of Sellersburg American Legion #204, Charlestown (IN) VFW and ANAVICUS (a Canadian branch of the American Legion) and former chief of the Sellersburg Volunteer Fire Department. He is survived by his wife, Stella Valentine; sons, Richard Valentine of Alton, IN Jim Valentine of Sellersburg, and Curtis Wadkins of New Albany, IN,daughters, Judy Largan of Elliston, VA, Phyllis Scharrer of Clarksville, IN, and Donna Blevins of Henryville, brother, Robert Valentine of Wisconsin; 10 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at Garr Fyneral Home, Sellersburg, with burial in SellersburgCemetery. Visitation will be from 2-9 p.m. Thursday, with a memorial service held at 7 p.m. Thursday. Expressions of Sympathy may be made to the American Heart Association.
