Private, Company F, 7th US Cavalry. Killed during the Battle of the Little Big Horn, along with General Custer and most of the 7th Cavalry.

Born in County Antrim, Ireland, he enlisted into the US Army on 21 August 1866, at age 28, in Philadelphia, PA, listing his previous occupation as a soldier. He reenlisted on 21 August 1871 in Meridan, Mississippi by Captain George Yates, into the 7th Cavalry. He was 5 feet, 5 1/4 inches tall, had hazel eyes, dark hair, and a dark complexion. His unit was with General George A. Custer's Battalion, and he was killed on Last Stand Hill. Originally buried where they fell, the soldiers were reinterred in 1877 into a mass grave, now marked with the Battlefield Monument on Last Stand Hill.
