Jessie Fleming, 83, a longtime Wenatchee resident, died in Central Washington Hospital Friday morning, Nov. 18, 1988, following an extended illness.
She was born Jessie Opal White on Aug. 17, 1905, in Arkansas and grew up there. She married Homer J. Fleming on Jul 13, 1924 in Oxford, AR. They moved to Wenatchee in 1943.
Mrs. Fleming was employed by Valley Evaporator for many years and later worked for Cedergreen Frozen Foods, retiring in 1960.
The Flemings moved to East Wenatchee in 1969. Following her husband's death in 1977, Mrs. Fleming moved back to Wenatchee.
She was a member of King's Orchard Church of Christ of Wenatchee.
Survivors include three sons, James "Jim" Fleming of Redmond, Bob Fleming of Spokane and Garry Fleming, Wenatchee; two daughters, Mrs. Helen McCollum and Mrs. Ed (Alta) Bruggman, both of Wenatchee; two brothers, Dale "Bob" White of Moses Lake, and Darcy White, Oxford AR.; one sister; Georgia Windgate, Norman, OK.; 23 grandchildren; and 22 great-grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by an infant son, two daughters and tree brothers.
Arrangements are by Telford's Chapel of the Valley.
