Henry was the son of Henry Viets and Margaret Hoskins. He married Beulah Messenger on 29 Dec 1745 in Norwich, New London, Connecticut. They were the parents of Chloe, Henry, Eunice and Beulah. Beulah died at the age of 30 and Henry married (2) Abiel Kingsley on 31 Dec 1776. They had two daughters named Ruth who died young.
