Delores Imogene Thompson, Rock Port, passed away on Friday, May 25, 2001, at Pleasant View Care Center in Rock Port. She was born on June 14, 1931, in Rock Port, the daughter of James W. and Beulah M. (Chambers) Thompson. In 1950, she graduated from Rock Port High School in Rock Port and was employed as a receptionist for Dr. Curfman.
Delores was united in marriage to Clair Burroughs at the Rock Port United Methodist Church by Rev. Hauser Winter. For a few years they lived in Creston, Iowa, and then Hamburg, Iowa, where she worked in the high school office staff. They later divorced.
In 1976, Dee made her home in Fairfax, and worked for Community Hospital before moving to Kansas City, Missouri, in 1984. She became a resident of Smithville, Missouri in 1996, and became an active and dedicated member of the River of Life Christian Church of Kansas City. She served faithfully as a church counselor and was a member of the choir. Due to ill health, Dee returned to Rock Port this May. Her sweet and loving spirit will always be remembered by everyone.
Survivors include her mother, Beulah Carter, Maryville, Missouri; one daughter and son-in-law, Claire Renee and Martin Aurora, Omaha, Nebraska; one son and daughter-in-law, Anthony Wayne and Susan Burroughs, Sauk Rapids, Minnesota; three grandchildren; nieces and nephews; and many friends.
Dee was preceded in death by her father, James W. Thompson, daughter, Angela Rae Burroughs; sister, Armeila Rae Prime; and a grandson, Brandon Price.
