Wayne Pride, 72, of Olney, died at 11:40a.m. Thursday, Nov. 27, 1997, at Deaconess Hospital in Evansville, Ind.

Services were held Monday at Summers-Kistler Funeral Home in Olney with Rev. John Spears officiating. The body will be cremated following services. Memorials can be made to Olney Church of God.

Pride was born April 10, 1925, in Cisco, the son of Ira and Bertha (Whitten) Pride.

He married Minnie Thomas Dec. 7, 1954.

He was a U. S. Navy WWII veteran and a retired mechanic for Bunny Bread. He was a member of Olney Church of God, American Legion, Olney Masonic Lodge and Shrine.

He is survived by his wife; two sons, Wesley Ellis Pride and his wife, Connie of Olney, and Wayne E. Pride and his wife, Dawn of South Roxanna; one daughter, Mabel Jane Cannon and her husband, Wesley of Olney; two brothers, James Pride of Olney and Glen Pride of North Vernon, Ind; one sister, Vivian Priest of Decatur; 11 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, a sister and a granddaughter.
