"Roy Lenard Crittenden joined the R.C.A.F. in the second world war on 2 November 1942, and was sent overseas on the Aquatania from New York habour on 2 January 1944. He served on a flying boat squadron RCAF #423 from Northern Ireland, returning home on the Queen Elizabeth in January 1946." - as told to me by Shiela Berry

CRITTENDEN_The death of Roy L. Crittenden aged 80 years of Simpson, SK occured at the Long Lake Vallley Integrated Facility in Imperial on Monday, June 7, 2004. Roy was predeceased by his parents, Charles and Katherine (Kennedy) Crittenden & grandchildren: Jamie and Grant Brooker and Merle Crittenden. Roy is survived by his loving wife Helen; his children: Blaine (Joyce), Howard (Carolyn), Colleen (Dennis) Brooker, Lenard (Jeanette), Cynthia (Floyd) Pieper, Pat (Brian) Geall & Carol (Wayne) Schaan. As well as 17 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. Roy is also survived by his brother Hugh (Mae), his sister Marion (Arley) and many nieces and nephews. The Memorial Service will be held in the Simpson Community Centre on Thursday, June 10th at 2:00 p.m. conducted by Marilyn Keerak. Interment will follow in the family plot in Simpson Cemetery. For those so wishing donations to the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated. FOTHERINGHAM MCDOUGALL FUNERAL SERVICE OF WATROUS in care of arrangements.


Predeceased by grandsons James C Brooker and Dennis Grant Brooker.
