Mardell Alice Simon 87, of Freedom, Indiana, passed away October 3, 2010. She was born to Lester and Myrtle Acuff on June 19, 1923 in Washburn, TN. Mardell is preceded in death by her devoted husband, Samuel "Sam" Simon; by her parents; and by two brothers, L. C. Acuff and J. T. (Andy) Acuff. She leaves behind to cherish her memories, daughters, Penny (Larry) Plummer and Sandra Hughes; son, Mike (Jan) Hughes; sister, Pauline (George) Byrd; grandchildren, Michelle Wann and Robin Miller; great-grandchildren, Kaleigh and Kyndall Wann and Olivia and Stuart Miller; and a host of other relatives and friends.
