Jan 30, 1958 - Kossuth County Advance - Mrs. Ida Becker, 64 year old St. Joe resident, died Wednesday morning at St. Ann hospital after an illness of six days. A Requiem High Mass will be said for her Saturday morning at 9:30 at the St. Joseph Catholic church with burial in the St. Joe cemetery. Father Luke Becker will be celebrant; Father Nick Becker, deacon; Father Frank Illg, sub-deacon; and Father Leo Schumacher, Master of Ceremonies. Hamilton's will have charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Becker was born on March 21, 1893 at Lyons, Iowa, the daughter of Anton and Johanna Kreucher. She came to the St. Joe area in 1920 and on June 10, 1922, was united in marriage to George Becker at St. Joe. The couple farmed near St. Joe for many years, until his death in 1942. She had been living in St. Joe the past few years.
Eleven children survive. They are: Rita, Mrs. Gerald Henely, of Ruthven; Martha, Mrs. Francis Collins, Livermore; George of Richmond, Calif.; Peggy, Mrs. Virgil Deardorff, Moneta, Iowa; Germaine, Mrs. Wayne Flesher, Redwood Valley, Calif.; Irma, Mrs. Robert Kayser, Bode; Mary Ann, Mrs. Ronald Thornton, Gilroy, Calif.; Edith, Mrs. Alise Sorensen, Humboldt; Jerome, Albert, and Donald, all of St. Joe. One daughter, Theresa, preceded her mother in death in 1942. Eight brothers, two sisters and 45 grandchildren also survive.
