Mrs. Delk died on Monday, Jan. 25, 1999, at Standing Stone Health Care Center in Monterey.
She was born on April 4, 1919, in Fentress County, to the late Andy and Emma Wright Whited. Mrs. Delk, along with her husband, owned and operated Delk Shoe Store in Monterey and the OK Cafe in Monterey.
Her family includes five daughters, Lillian Waters and Peggy Swallows, both of Monterey, Patricia Woodford of Murfreesboro, Sheryl Buckner of Smyrna, and Carolyn Beasley of Rickman; five sons, David R. and Tony G. Delk, both of Monterey, Wayne Delk of Springfield, Ronnie Delk of Carlton, Mich., and John Delk of Cookeville; 19 grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Noble R. Delk, and a son, Roy Delk.
Rev. Dewitt Sampley will officiate at the services.
