Ann L. Conley, 90, of Sioux City passed away Friday, Oct. 1, 2010, at a local hospital.

Services will be 11 a.m. Monday, October 4, 2010 at Trinity Lutheran Church, with the Rev. R. Paul Johnston officiating. Burial will be in the Holstein Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to service time Monday at the church. Arrangements are under the direction of Nelson-Berger Funeral Home.

Ann was born the daughter of Ferdinand A. and Laura (Pieper) Bruning on Dec. 18, 1919, in Washta, Iowa. She married John "Jack" Conley on June 30, 1949, in Sioux City.

Ann was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. Ann also liked to volunteer her time at St. Luke's Hospital and Trinity Lutheran Church. She was active in the Eastern Star, American Legion and Women's Club as well as various other community organizations.

Ann is survived by one daughter, Laurie (Bruce) Putman of Overland Park, Kan.; one sister, Ferne Scherner of Holstein, Iowa; four grandchildren, Dale II, William, Emily and Carolyn; and great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; and one brother, Laverne.

In lieu of flowers, memorials can be directed to the American Diabetes Association, the American Heart Association or Trinity Lutheran Church.
