Ora worked in the Kidwell Drug Company that the Kidwell family had for several years at Green City, Missouri. It was later sold to James Gilbert Hensley. He was one of the Green City Merchants in the 1920s.
On Dec. 8, 1905 the first meeting was held to make plans for having a fair at Green City. There were forty stockholders, and thirty of them were present for the meeting at the T. R. Davis store. They were to proceed at once to make a track and other necessary preparations so they could have a fair in 1906. A board of directors was elected: O.E. Kidwell, A. E. Jones, H. C. Anderson, A. L. Schuster, E. S. Pfeiffer, M. E. Campbell and T. R. Davis. Officers were E. S. Pfeiffer, president; O. E. Kidwell vice president; H. C. Anderson, treasurer and A. E. Jones, secretary . They had horse racing, judging of livestock, a carnival, judging of baked food, jellies, bread, vegetables, both canned and fresh, and entertainment. The fair would be held in August. They had the fair until 1931 because the crowds kept getting smaller. The land was sold later to the present Saddle Club where they have horse shows and other events.
