Martin F. Rothrock was the eldest of nine known children of Evan Ephraim Rothrock (1819-c1880) and Katherine Salome Ebert Rothrock (1818-1898), who married 02 Jan 1840 at Davidson County, North Carolina.
Martin married E. Ellen Foust (1843-1909) on 28 Feb 1871 at Bartholomew County, Indiana. Martin and Ellen were the parents of four known children, namely:
1. Rhetta M. Rothrock Gilmore Chapman (1872-1963)
2. Emma K. Rothrock Carter (1873-1950)
3. Esta Rothrock Henry (1876-1948)
4. Marshall Franklin Rothrock (1880-1960)
