He was born in Olney October 30, 1925 to Earl and Nettie (Lewis) Hostettler. He served in the military service from 1944 to 1980, including the Merchant Marine and the Army. He was a member of the First Christian Church Disciples of Christ.
Mr. Hostettler is survived by two brothers, Gene of Evansville, Ind. and Roy of Bloomington, Il.; four sisters, Aleen Hostettler, Olney, Mrs. Dallas (Barbara) Beyer, Decatur, Mrs. Andrew (Georgia) Bishop, Wenona and Mrs. Orville (Marjorie) West, Peoria; and several nieces and nephews.
