Randy Linder, 40, Rites at Broken Bow

Randy Linder, 40 of Broken Bow, died January 8, 1992 in Broken Bow. Funeral services were held Sunday, January 12, at 2:00 pm at the United Methodist Church in Broken Bow with David Lux officiating. Burial was in the Arnold Cemetery.

Randy Glenn Linder was born July 14, 1951 in Broken Bow, NE to William Glenn 'Jack' and Mary Dean (Brindell) Linder. He grew up in Broken Bow, graduating from Broken Bow High School in 1969. He attended college in North Platte and received his bachelors degree in law enforcement. On May 23, 1970 he married Joleen McCandless. After college they moved to Pocatello, ID where Randy was a law enforcement special agent for Union Pacific. In the spring of 1974 they returned to Merna where he was the Merna Police Chief, a position he held even after their move to Broken Bow in the summer of 1988. He and his wife owned and operated the Jol-Ran Academy, a dance and tumbling school in Broken Bow. In 1989, Randy resigned as Police Chief and returned to school, majoring in business administration and he worked for Becton Dickinson in Broken Bow. Randy was involved in numerous community activities.

Survivors include his wife, Joleen of Broken Bow; two daughters, Amber and Jaide of Broken Bow; his parents, Jack and Mary Linder of Broken Bow, one brother, Rodney Linder of Colorado and a sister, Rebel Rush of Manhattan, KS. He was preceded in death by his grandparents.
