Predeceased by first wife Patricia "Gail" Patterson 1999.WHITE, James Henry - (B.A.: Master of Music, Eastman School of Music, The University of Rochester: Professor Emeritus, Faculty of Education, The University of Western Ontario) - Entered into rest at home after a courageous battle with cancer on Monday, September 27, 2010 in his 73rd year. Jim was the beloved husband of Elizabeth “Dib“ Junkin and the late Patricia (Gail) Patterson (1999). Loving father of Bradley (Stephanie) and Kathy (Ken) Kramer and dear father to Tom Gleave (Shipie Cheong), Penny Gleave (David Haight) and Michael Gleave. Cherished grandpa of Jaime, Robyn, Madelyne, Jeffrey, Dawson, Ashburry and Darian. Dearly remembered by brother Bill (Denna) and sister Eleanor Schultz (Jim). Until his retirement Jim was a Full Professor of Music and Coordinator of Fine Arts at the University of Western Ontario, Conductor of the London Youth Symphony Orchestra. Jim was also the founding Conductor and Music Director of Brassroots and has guest conducted and adjudicated extensively throughout Canada and the U.S.A. as well as several other countries. In recent years Jim was a member of Intrada Brass and the Salvation Army Heritage Brass. The family of the late Jim White will receive friends at JARDINE FUNERAL HOME, CREMATION & TRIBUTE CENTRE, 8 Princes' St. W, Fenelon Falls on Wednesday, October 6, 2010 from 2-4 & 7-9 pm. Memorial service from the Fenelon Falls United Church, 123 Colborne St., Fenelon Falls on Thursday, October 7, 2010 at 11:00 am. Reception to follow. A private service of interment of cremated remains to take place at Riverside Cemetery in Lindsay. Memorial donations to the Fenelon Falls Salvation Army or the Cancer Society would be appreciated by the family.
