Fenla Rogers Hatch, beloved wife of C.R. Hatch for 61 years, passed away on Jan. 24, 2003, in Show Low after a brief illness. Born the 10th child of Reuben and Wealthy Rogers in Snowflake on June 9, 1924, Fenla was known throughout the area for her kind and giving nature.

The name Fen Hatch is synonymous with the words "friend" and "service." She was famous for all her cooking and especially her homemade bread and rolls, which were given away on a daily basis. She also enjoyed gardening, quilting, traveling and anything to do with her family. She served all her life in various callings in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints but her first love was the Primary Program, in which she was involved for over 31 years.

She is survived by her husband, Chauncy R. Hatch; four sons, Gerald, Rick, Charlie and Roger; two daughters, Florene Terror and Melanie Williams; 21 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and a sister, LePrell Houser.Services are today at 11 a.m. at the Main Street Chapel of the LDS Church in Snowflake. A viewing was held yesterday at the Owens Mortuary, Snowflake.
