Grace I. Ahrens peacefully passed away February 18, 2010 following an extended illness. She is lovingly remembered by her family and a host of friends. She lived just a few days short of her 97th birthday, a life devoted to special care as a registered nurse. Grace served youth in Seattle as a school nurse for 32 years. Following her retirement, she consistently cared for others in need. Grace was preceded in death by Carl, her husband of 63 years; brother James W. Lapp; and sister Nelda Chapman. She will be long remembered and mourned by her brother, F. Jay Lapp; her sister-in-law Martha Anne Lapp; nieces Susan Disch (Jim); Jana Alger; Mary Jo Schimmels (Ed); and nephews Steve Lapp (Barbara); and Tom Chapman (Joanne). She is also survived by numerous other relatives and very special friends, Carol Wallenberg and Bob and Barbara Schom. Graveside services Friday, February 26th, at 3:00 p.m. at Forest Lawn Cemetery, Seattle.
