OAKLAND, Calif., June 24
(AP) -- Sue Mead Kaiser, wife of California Industrialist Edgar F. Kaiser, died today of a heart attack, it was announced here. She was 65.

Mrs. Kaiser was traveling with her husband, who was attending a conference of western business executives and Soviet trade and industry officials. Kaiser is cochairman of the conference.

Mrs. Kaiser was born in Melbourne, Australia, the daughter of Dr. and Mrs. Elwood Mead. Besides her husband, she is survived by six children, Mrs. Andrew Saxton, Mrs. Martin Drobac, Mrs. Wallace Gudgell Jr., Edgar F. Kaiser Jr., Henry Mead Kaiser, and Air Force Capt. Kim J. Kaiser; two brothers, John and Tom; a sister, Mrs. M. W. Marston, and 17 grandchildren.

MOSCOW (UPI) -- Sue Mead Kaiser, wife of American Industrialist Edgar F. Kaiser, died in Moscow's Intourist Hotel Monday of an apparent heart attack, American diplomats said.

The Kaisers had come here for a conference on East-West trade, one of whose sponsers is the Stanford Research Institute of Menlo Park.

Kaiser, chairman of Kaiser Industries Corp. in Oakland, was to have been cochairman of the conference.

The diplomats said he returned Monday with his wife's body aboard a commercial flight to San Francusco.

The Kaisers had been married 42 years and had six children.

Mrs. Kaiser was the daughter of Elwood Mead, first director of the U.S. Bureau of Reclamation.
