Jacob E. Mock, 75, of New Paris R.D., died at 12:15 a.m. today at his home after and extended illness due to a complication of ailments. He was a son of Emmanuel and Julia Ann (Ripple) Mock, and was born in Somerset on Nov. 15, 1869. The deceased was a member of the New Paris Church of the Brethren. Surviving is his widow, the former Effie Manges, and six children: Mrs. Ralph Welsh, Mr. Thomas Carson, Mrs. George Felix and Mrs. Sewell Wentz, all of Alum Bank; Edward Mock, New Paris R.D., and Richard Mock, Baltimore, Md. He also leaves 39 grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and the following brothers and sisters: Lemon and Jordan Mock, both of Alum Bank, and Mrs. A.J. Reuzer and Mrs. Harry Crum, both of Windber. Four children and two sisters preceded him in death.
Burial will be in Berkey Cemetery, near Windber. Six grandsons of the deceased will serve as pallbearers.
