Lloyd F. Nixon, 93 of Gore, Ohio passed away October 1, 2010 in Fairfield Medical Center, Lancaster, Ohio.

He was born September 17, 1917 in Hocking County, Ohio, son of the late Elmer and Edith (Howdyshell) Nixon and he was married to the late Catherine (McMullen) Nixon.

Lloyd was an Oil Well Pumper, an Army Veteran of World War II serving in Germany, France, and Iceland, and he was a member of the New Hope United Methodist Church in Gore, Ohio. Lloyd loved music especially church hymns.

He is survived by daughters, Sharon (Jim) Stimmel, Connie (Terry) Hunter and Teresa Smith all of Logan, Ohio; grandchildren, Jim, Jerry and Jeff Stimmel, Julie Brown, Todd Barstow, Ryan Heidi Smith; and 16 great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, brothers, Merle, Harry, Thurman and Clyde Nixon and a sister, Mildred Miller.

Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday in the New Hope United Methodist Church with Rev. David Rohrer officiating. Interment will be in Gore Cemetery.

Friends may call at the Cardaras Funeral Home 183 East Hunter Street, Logan, Ohio on Sunday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. and at the church on Monday, one hour prior to the services.
