Beth Joanne Firm - Huerfano World - April 16, 1992 - Beth Joanne Firm, 79, Walsenburg, died Saturday, Apr. 11, 1992, in Walsenburg Care Center where she had been a resident for the past year and half. Born in Goldfield, NV, June 21, 1912, as an infant she went to New York with her parents. She also lived in Michigan, graduating from high school and later attending college in that state. She worked as a private secretary to the vice president of an automotive parts manufacturing firm. In 1950, she came to Walsenburg and worked for J.C. Penney Company until it closed at which time she retired. She married David J. Firm in 1963. Mrs. Firm was a member of the United Church of Walsenburg and Huerfano County had served on the Library Board. Survivors include her husband, David; two daughters, Gail Major, Mountainair, NM, and Linda Schafer, Walsenburg; eight grandchildren and cousins. Funeral service was Tuesday from United Church in Walsenburg. Burial was in La Veta Cemetery. Boies Almont was in charge of arrangements
